Ups and downs but overall amazing school

Staff are amazing, such great relationships and support built from within. A real sense of friendship amongst staff, a lot of whom have been there for a long time and are welcoming to anyone new across departments, not at all cliquey. Head teacher is brilliant and doing a great job, supportive and willing to listen. Deputy is fierce and loud but very supportive. School structure changed a lot a few years ago and a lot of changes happened so now there are very few opportunities for progression. There was some bullying within middle leadership that was not delt with well and some members of staff have been allowed to behave poorly because of previous staffing concerns. Behaviour is amazing, very clear procedures which are centrally managed. A lot of duties both before school, break time and after school expected every week without consideration for how busy staff days are. Trust are ok to work for although they brought in mastery in English up to KS3 which is not great and the trust expectations which need to be met across all schools take away a lot from the teaching side of things and whitewash the curriculum side of it. All students have been given iPads which really helps with planning, resourcing and marking and phones put into every classroom so contact home is simple and efficient. Community in the school is amazing, lots to do and get involved with.
